This episode in Charles’ life finds him on the receiving end of an arrest warrant. A fire and murder at the new wagon construction site in Philadelphia angers Charles as he takes matters in his own hands to find and kill the people responsible. While putting pressure on a crime boss that Charles believes is responsible, an attack occurs at the ranch, and his son, Jonathon, is seriously wounded in the attack, and his new horse barn is set on fire. Charles refuses to back off as U.S. Marshal Collin Peterson asks, resulting in Charles fighting both the lawless and the law. Charles resorts to calling on his old friend, Bill Bulger, the Attorney General of California, and his son, C.W., the Federal Judge of Denver, to help him.
